As part of a new segment on our website, Dr. Page will be answering Frequently Asked Questions from our Capital District dental patients. We will be announcing each video on our blog (much like this article!), but be sure to bookmark our Video FAQ Library page to stay up-to-date as each new video rolls out.
A common inquiry we receive from patients who think they need a lot of dental work is: when exactly is a full-mouth reconstruction necessary?
As Dr. Page speaks to in the video, sometimes a full-mouth reconstruction is needed when a patient wears down their natural teeth due to grinding and clenching (TMD/TMJ) –– while other times a combination of several dental treatments are necessary to rehabilitate and restore the teeth and gums.

At Capital Smiles, we have the privilege of treating dental patients from all walks of life. In fact, our Capital District dental practice has been helping friends and families around the area love to smile since 1982!
Doug had not been to the dentist in 14 to 15 years when he first came to Capital Smiles. Why did he wait so long? Dental anxiety.
We see it all too often… poor dental experiences both at childhood and as an adult can contribute to dental fear and anxiety. It does not have to be this way!
Doug was pleased to discover Capital Smiles has built our Schenectady dental practice entirely around helping anxious patients just like himself. He especially took note of the non-judgmental atmosphere and how Dr. Page answered all his questions and were very communicative during visits.
Doug drives 45 minutes to come to Capital Smiles! Why? He says he feels good at the practice, likes the welcoming atmosphere, is confident the team is doing the right things and likes how treatment isn’t forced on him.

Have you lost a full arch of teeth? All-on-4 (or All-on-6) is a method of placing dental implants which allows your dentist to secure a complete denture on four to six dental implants. Used in cases of total tooth loss, this approach promises a stable, natural-looking smile faster and more affordably compared to what is possible with traditional dental implants. For many patients, that is wonderful news — but All-on-4 implants can also be associated with some risks. Keep reading to find out what they are and how they can be avoided.
