All-on-4 and All-on-6 dental implant restorations are two treatment solutions that allow us to restore complete smiles that look, feel, and function more like natural teeth. Schedule a dental implant consultation with our Capital District team today to find out which solution is right for you.

Choosing the Ideal Number of Implants to Restore Your Smile

Compared with other tooth replacement options, implant retained prostheses provide cutting edge restorations in form, function and esthetics.  Great lip support, facial structure, and the ability to chew and talk comfortably, confidently and live your life worry free are within reach when all-on-4 and all-on-6 full mouth restorations are made. All-on-4 and All-on-6 restorations allow us to maximize existing jawbone density to support even a full arch of teeth on a small number of implants. Using fewer implant posts also makes the recovery time shorter and the treatment cost lower. In order to determine which procedure is right for the individual patients, we’ll need to answer some questions including:

  • Do you have remaining teeth or tooth roots? – patients who have teeth remaining tend to have superior bone density and are better able to support a greater number of implants.
  • Does the sinus cavity cause concerns? – Patients whose sinus cavities have expanded may need some additional procedures such as bone grafting and sinus lifts to provide adequate amounts of bone for the implants.
  • What type of prosthetic do you want to place? – Patients interested in a full or partial overdenture can typical use either procedure depending on other contributing factors, but some patients prefer to use a series of implant supported bridges to replace a full arch of teeth offering a more natural smile line. These patients will need at least six implants.
  • What are the facial measurements? – The size and shape of the jawbone also impact the number of implants necessary to support a prosthetic. The larger the jawbone, the more likely patients are to need six implants.
  • Patients who clench and grind may need more implants and Botox treatments may be recommended to help to relax the muscles and protect the restorations and your investment.

Comfortable Technology for Capital District Dental Implants

The advanced CAD/CAM technology used to accurately position All-on-4 and All-on-6 implants offers patients improved treatment options, and sedation dentistry and 3D imaging maximizes the comfort and success of each treatment. Dental sedation not only provides patients with increased relaxation, it also reduces dental sensitivity.  3D cone beam images provide a more in-depth view of patients’ smiles allowing us to more accurately plan for and execute any treatment. This is especially true for All-on-4 and All-on-6 procedures where the exact angle and position of placement are essential to provide patients superior results.
